presented visionary musical prophet, Burning Spear and the Burning Band in a triumphant return to Toronto, Canada on Sunday, July 7, 1996 at the RPM Warehouse, 132 Queen's Quay East.

Burning Spear and his ten-piece Burning Band were joined by special guests Toronto's own Juno nominees Ras Records/Denon Canada artist Lazo, and Fujahtive.

Doors opened promptly at 7:30 PM.

For two consecutive summers, capacity Toronto crowds have jubilantly grooved to the uplifting tones of Burning Spear's lively, conscious groove.

Since first recording Door Peep with Jamaica's legendary Studio One in 1969, Burning Spear has produced solid, conscious, and relevant reggae time after time.

Fresh from the international success of his latest CD Rasta Business (Heartbeat/Denon Canada), seven-time Grammy nominee and cultural ambassador Burning Spear is renowned for songs like Man in the Hills, Call On Me, Slavery Days, Get Ready, Marcus Garvey, Foggy Road, African Teacher, Creation Rebel, Mek We Dweet, Rasta Business, Rocking Time, and many more.

Surprise MC's Afrikan Princess (Women Ah Run Tings) added to the evening's exuberance with strong, uplifting presentations for each band.

As well the crowd helped to celebrate the 196 LIP Recognition Awards given to Jamaica's Consul-General Mrs. Margarietta St. Juste and to CKLN Radio DJ Milton Blake (host of Musical Triangle which airs Sundays from 4 PM to 6 PM) for their years of outstanding community service.
